Description

Hotel Linda Amsterdam is a monumental building that was recently renovated. Hotel Linda Amsterdam is situated in the heart of Amsterdam at the Stadhouderskade, on the southern side of the city centre. Within walking distance you will find the vibrant Albert Cuypmarket and the Waterlooplein, the entertainment area of the Rembrandtplein and several museums.

The hotel has 37 excellently funished rooms that all have colour television, bath/shower/toilet as well as a telephone and Internet access. All the rooms have double-glazing, which guarantees an uninterrupted peacefull nights sleep. A sumptuous breakfast is served in the breakfast lounge.

The hotel is easy to reach by car or public transport (tram 4 or 25)and has its own (paid) car park which costs Euro 20- per day. The hotel is open 24-hours a day. The hotel is easy to reach by car or public transport (tram 4 or 25)and has its own (paid) car park which costs Euro 20- per day. From Schiphol the train to Amsterdam Central Station or RAI. Then take tram nr. 4 or 25, stop Stadhouderskade. Hotel Linda lies on 50 m. from the stop.

How do I get to the Linda Hotel by public transport? :

1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)

2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take tram: 4 or 25 from the square in front of the station to the Stadhouderskade/Westeinde. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 1 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

Pleasant, friendly, staff who speak excellent english. very good breakfasts. well-placed near a tram-stop. i had to leave early in the morning, and they were kind enough to open the breakfast room an hour earlier than usual for me. generally, a very positive and helpful atmosphere.
My wardrobe was a bit grubby at the bottom! there is no lift, and the stairs are fantastically steep - so the linda is probably unsuitable for the elderly, disabled, unwell, or obese. but i would happily recommend the hotel to anyone else.

I didn't know well about the dutch building style, and was shocked to see my room without any view. i just saw the other side of the building and other room window. so dark even in the bright morning.

We enjoyed the hospitality and kindness of the staff.
The room was over excessively hot. no fan, no breeze, no way of cooling off. room amenities were not quite impressive (no phone, small tv, broken lamps). price a bit high for the room which only consisted of bathroom,bed, and few furniture.

They had great service and they cared about there clients.

Staff allowed us to store our luggage in hotel before check-in. also organised an early breakfast, an hour earlier for us. breakfast was very good. room and bathroom was very clean.
Room was rather hot - there was a fan in the cupboard, but we only saw it as we were leaving!

Telephone in 4th floor room did not work. stairs up to 4th floor really steep, especially last floor. even dangerous. bathroom outside room not so terrible, but second day and night was locked by broken key. this was not fixed until the time we were leaving. one of our party wa ill and had to go down the steep stairs repeatedly to use a hall bathroom. this also meant we had no shower, but as we left, we were offhandedly told there was also a hall shower - a bit late, i'd say. with a useless phone, there was also the fear of being unable to contact the reception if the ill person were to get worse. in all, an unpleasant stay. we cut short our plans to spend several more nights precisely because of the combination of problems. in a hotel like this, you can't just let guests who tell you there is no bathroom on their floor (and as part of a paid reservation) until somebody can come to resolve the issue. no shower added to our discomfort. we feel as if we deserve part of our money back. it was not worth the price.

We though the hotel was expensive for what we got (120 euro per night). it was more like a hostel than a hotel. the room was very small & alot of noise could be heard from other rooms.

Very friendly and helpful staff, happy to accomodate baggage once checked out whilst still in the city, useful parking area, convenient location close to all transport and attractions. rooms were large and comfortable.
Beds not made each day. steep stairs to first three floors and then incredibly steep to top floor. caused us problems travelling with someone who cannot manage too many stairs with mobility problems. dangerous with baggage. handrails not secure on lower stairs. nowhere in description does it state about these stairs. rooms wer hot without windows open, but noisy and not private if opened. would have liked to have seen desk fans in the room to cover this issue.
