The Gresham Memphis Hotel Amsterdam is a favourite of both the business and the leisure traveller. Our four stars Amsterdam hotel is well known for it’s cosy atmosphere and personal service. All rooms have been equipped with In-room entertainment system, air conditioning and Wireless Internet. Culture seekers are well catered for, with the National museum, van Gogh museum and Concert hall just around the corner. Shop-a-holics will find the most exclusive shopping streets within a minutes walk. Visitors to the Amsterdam RAI and WTC don’t have to travel very far either. Finally our hotel is located within 20 minutes of Schiphol and close to the ringroad A-10.

How to reach the hotel?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take tram: 16 from the square in front of the station to the Emmastraat/lairesstraat. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 1 min. The trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

the staff were very friendly and informative. the hotel is in a good location and its really easy to get from the hotel to the centre of amsterdamThe offer that we booked on easytobook.com wasnt what we actually got. the information given on the website said that we would get a free upgrade from a superior room but when we got to the hotel the free upgrade of the superior room seemed as if it was a standard room. the room was quite small, we were expecting the whole experience to be one of luxury but it ended up being quite baisic. for the price we paid for the hotel i really expected better. also the pictures on the website are quite misleading as they do not represent the true picture of what the hotel looks like.Anonymous

Good location, the room was nice but more 3 star quality than 4. we were lucky enough to get a good deal but i would have been annoyed to get the same room for the price quoted in the hotel itself. Customer service was terrible. the staff, in particular the girl with the long blonde pony tail, were unfriendly, unhelpful and on occasion quite rude (the aforementioned girl was eating her dinner in the bar when i approached the reception at and seemed to hold it against me that i had interrupted her from her meal.... she continued chewing as she sourly addressed my query. worst receptionist i have ever met in my life. certainly not 4 star quality). The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, from looking after our luggage, explaining the trams and surrounding area. i would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to visit amsterdam, it is on the number 16 tram route to central station, so easy to travel straight into dam square and other tourist areas. a short walk to the vondelpark park and the rijksmuseum, and restaurants are not too far away, but make sure you take a map.Mcglynn
