The Dam Hotel is centrally located near the Central Station and Dam Square. Our rooms are furnished with modern furniture and each room has a washbasin, shower, toilet and cable TV. A tasty breakfast is served from 8 - 10.30 am. You can also lunch or dine in style at our Marco Polo restaurant.

The Damhotel is centrally located near the Central Station and Dam Square, just 100 m away from the main shopping streets (Nieuwendijk and Kalverstraat) and the red light district ('DeWallen').

*How do I get to the Dam Hotel by public transport? :

1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)

2) From CENTRAL STATION: You dont have take the tram, you can walk to the hotel +/- 5 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

The location is the only positive about the hotel.
Sorry to say that disappointed is what we were with this hotel. it was very expensive and not very nice. the rooms were so small that you couldn't even stand between the beds.

Perfect location. the staff were courteous and helpful. room was clean...small and stuffy, but i could safely have windows open. enjoyable stay.

Exelent location, 5 minuets away from central station and red light district. friendly and easy-going staff. open all night long if you decide to stay out. having room with televisions gave the hotel the edge over many other hostels. not having to share a bathroom with people you dont know was exellent, especially when your tierd or on a major come-down.
The only thing that i could possibly say was wrong with the hotel was the room and bathroom was not well ventilated which led to the room being stupidly hot and the bathroom not smelling to fresh for about three hours after being used. (would of definetly payed more money for air-con). this would'nt matter too much if it was colder when we went.

Excelent location in the heart of amsterdam and you can easily arrive from the airport, even when i arrive late in the night they didn't give my bed to someone else
I was in the hotel for three nights and the staf didn't clean the room any day, only provide clean towels

The room i stayed in had quite a lot of dust particles in the air. the cause of the dust was probably the dirty carpet. also, was unable to open window fully causing the dust to stay in room.

I had a confirmed private/single room. during the check-in process, and after my credit card information/payment procedure was completed i was then informed that the hotel has made a mistake and i was not given a private room, but a shared room. no price reduction was mentioned, or any signs of compensation for my (the customer) inconvenience. i was very upset that i was not told this information immediatly, that the hotel waited till my credit card information and check-in was comleted before i was told of the situation. i am a business man and i travel fequently - this is not the proper way to treat your paying guests. i walked less then 50 meters and found a better quality and less expensive private room - that i will use for all future visits. i have placed a notice for our company staff (450+) who will be travelling frequently to amsterdam over the next 2 years) about my unpleqasant experience at your hotel - that this hotel should not be used.

Me and my partner stayed here in may and had a wonderful trip rooms clean were on the top floor lookin out over amsterdam was very gud enjoyed my stay also pizzas are lovley downstairs in restaurant.
The lift doesnt work after 12 so you have to use the stairs now pain after few drinks tryin to climb all de way to the top.
